We are located less than one hour from Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and nearby Gettysburg, Antietam, and Harpers Ferry, in Frederick County Maryland. Frederick is near the Catoctin Mountains, the Potomac River, and 90 national, state, county, and municipal park facilities, and offers an array of visitor experiences.
Interns are exposed to a wide variety of recreational activities such as swimming, boating, camping, skating, and horseback riding, with a variety of motorbikes, offroad vehicles, and watercraft on the premises. Wonderful outdoor experiences are to be enjoyed in every season.
Chartered in 1748, Frederick County is a treasure trove of historic sites and museums. Highlights include The City of Frederick’s renowned 50 block downtown Historic District, the Historical Society of Frederick County, our many historic bridges, the National Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, the Brunswick Railroad Museum C&O Canal Visitor Center, and such Civil War attractions as Monocacy National Battlefield, South Mountain Battlefield State Park, and the National Museum of Civil War Medicine.
